DIY

It’s 2:43 pm on my day off, and I have decided to go on an adventure.

Today I will finally unclog the upstairs bathroom sink, which I share with three other roommates. (I am desperately hoping that fish bowl rocks belonging to recently deceased Beta are not trapped within the plumbing.) According to “Dare to Repair A Do-It-Herself Guide to Fixing (Almost) Anything in the Home” I will simply need a rag to plug the overflow hole of the sink…and a plunger. Here is where I run into problem #1. I do not have the basic tool to complete the task. So off I will hurry with boyfriend in company to various local shops to purchase said item.

Once back at base, I will proceed to complete the simple unclogging a bathroom drain process. Should there indeed be something foreign stuck in the plumbing (problem #2), I will have to result to the “Retrieving Treasures from a Sink Trap” process page 37. Which involves items such as a bucket, masking tape, slip-joint pliers/plumber’s wrench as well as lubricating spray.

I hope to post a “victory” photo after the first process.
